Acupressure/Tui Na

History and Benefits

Acupressure Tui Na For over five thousand years, the Chinese have used a method of healing the human body that stimulates and moves the Chi (life force) on points and lines within the meridian system. The techniques and methods used in this art are known commonly as Acupressure and more broadly, Tui Na. These two terms describe a Chinese art of healing known by the older name of "An Mo" (literally meaning push and pull), a task-oriented therapeutic massage. This art uses the same medical theory as Acupuncture, but without needles; its roots go deep into the Medical Chi Gung tradition.

Acupressure Tui Na (ATN) promotes natural healing, moving the Blood and Chi through the afflicted areas of the body. By relaxing the muscles and tendons, ATN clears away trauma and relieves pain. Following the natural pathways of the body, ATN stimulates and moves the Blood and Chi to all parts of the body (something acupuncture cannot do), enhancing vital energy. Most importantly, it supports the internal organs in their process of rejuvenation. ATN therapy is particularly effective in the treatment of traumatic injuries to muscles, tendons and joints; and in the relief of chronic back, neck and head pain due to injury, repetitive motion and stress. This therapy is very useful in treating hypertension and disorders associated with lung, kidney and other internal organs.

Regularly used by Chinese people as health maintenance, this profound healing system is also a centuries-old beauty treatment, known as "acu-facelifts." This treatment conditions the skin and tones the facial muscles responsible for the upward lift of the face. Facial Acupressure Massage methods are based on the same fundamental points and principles as the medical branch, but concentrates on the main elements of facial beauty.

ATN stimulates and circulates Blood and Chi throughout the entire body to heal injuries, rejuvenate organs, promote a strong immune system and establish vital health and lasting beauty.
